Sorry to startle you; this is me with the lake bordering my backyard visible over my shoulder.
Hello! I’m Ray Gulick, owner of Evo Web Development. I developed the ChapterBook Theme as an ultra-simple WordPress theme for writing, self-publishing, and sharing a book I’m writing. If you’re an author or aspire to be, you might find ChapterBook useful. Its minimalist, optimized-for-iPads-and-Notebooks approach is well-suited for books divided by chapters, with limited need for images or illustrations. In Site Options, you can select light or dark theme (light theme shown).
While your book is in progress, we can hide it with a ‘Coming soon’ message. You, your editor,1 and proofreader can collaborate online as the book takes shape.
The theme is not available as a standalone item, but we do sell its installation, basic setup, and a 30-minute shared-screen walk-through for $99 (there are a few required plugins that must be configured as well). When you compare it to the thousands you’d spend with other self-publishing options, it’s the bargain of a lifetime.
We offer ongoing support including, but not limited to, customization, ongoing security monitoring, and content updates (ie, you write it and pass it on to me to post) for $29.95/month (minimum 6 months), which includes webhosting, if needed (we may be able to attach the ChapterBook site to your existing website as a subdomain, if you have one, in the same way this demo site is attached to evowebdev.com).
It’s also possible for you to sell paid access, and we can help you set that up (not included with basic setup). Contact us via the link in the sidebar to learn more.
